A short monthly newsletter packed with awesome new discoveries and personal recommendations! #Books #Podcasts #Tech #Humour #Psychology #BestOfTheWeb

Happy September, and welcome to the 39th issue of ‘How Curious!’ ✌️
I had Covid-19 five months ago, and recently got another antibody test to check my levels. I’m happy to report that my antibody levels are still relatively high. I’ll continue testing every 3 months to keep track of these!
Highlights from last month included two socially distant gigs and stand-up paddle boarding. The gigs were quite surreal and it really hit home that this may be our reality for the foreseeable, but it’s certainly progress! 🎸🏄

The most civilised gig I've ever attended!

A clever person solves a problem. A wise person avoids it. – Albert Einstein
A wise old owl lived in an oak, the more he saw the less he spoke, the less he spoke, the more he heard, why aren’t we all like that old bird?
Our lives are not the days that have passed, but the days we will remember for ever.
Cool Tech
It’s been awhile since I’ve had recommendations worthy of the ‘Cool Tech’ section, but now it’s back with a bang! 💥

After my recent deep dive into the freight industry I’ve now decided to explore the oil industry. My kindle tells me it will take me up to 40 hours to read this 900 page monster, but I’m enjoying learning about history through the lens of the oil companies and characters that dominated the industry.

On complaining...
Writer Maya Angelou on complaining:
“Sister, there are people who went to sleep all over the world last night, poor and rich and white and black, but they will never wake again. Sister, those who expected to rise did not, their beds became their cooling boards, and their blankets became their winding sheets. And those dead folks would give anything, anything at all for just five minutes of this… So you watch yourself about complaining, Sister. What you’re supposed to do when you don’t like a thing is change it. If you can’t change it, change the way you think about it. Don’t complain.”
