Here is a simple but profound thought exercise.
Imagine I asked you to stand still in a random location in the city centre this weekend, with no phone/books/productive distractions for 1 hour. How much would it take for you to agree, €10/€30/€50/€150?
Your answer gives an indication of your approx hourly rate! Keep this number in mind when reviewing how you spend your time and money.
If outsourcing a task will cost less than your hourly rate, outsource it.
Adopting this mindset a few years ago has encouraged me to spend money to get more free time, avoid tasks I don’t enjoy and remove what are usually trivial problems.
If you’ve got enough money to solve the problem, you don’t have a problem.
